Life of Buddha

Life of Buddha Thangka Paintings are not just a mere illustration of the main episodes of the historical Siddhartha and his progress towards the achievement of spiritual enlightenment.
They are considered to be a visual representation of several philosophical aspects of the esoteric Buddhism as well.

The twelve topic events of the life of Siddhartha Gautama can be divided in three distinct phases:

– The young years as a prince, when he realizes human suffering.

– His quest for a solution to overcome this suffering.

– The fulfillment of his search and the commitment to spend the rest of his life by teaching others to achieve enlightenment for themselves.
