Jataka Tales Buddha – Fine Print

$613.00

The one hundred Jataka tales, written by the 3rd Karmapa Lama Rangjung Dorje, are stories about the previous lives of the Buddha, either in human or animal forms.
In Buddhist tradition there are many variations of the tales, which have come from retelling these stories over centuries.

In this thangka Shakyamuni Buddha is seated on a lotus throne supported by two snow lions. On the sides are depicted the tho main Buddha's disciples: Sariputta to his right and Maudgalyayana to his left.
Inside each block are depicted the scenes of the hundred Jataka tales beginning at the top center and moving in a clockwise pattern around the central figures.

A copy of the original Tibetan script with corresponding translation for each of the one hundred blocks and long narration of the first thirty-four Jataka life stories accompanies this beautiful high quality print.

Dimensions: 37.4 x 48.6 inches.
