Thangka of the Five Gold Buddha

Five Gold Buddha Mandala

From: $30.00

This Mandala is inspired to the five precept of Theravada Buddhism: the five rules that Buddhist practitioners should follow to facilitate their practice: do not harm or kill, do not steal, avoid sexual misconduct, do not lie and do not use alcohol or drugs.
These five precepts have common elements with most ethical rules in other major Buddhist traditions.

The five precepts are represented in this mandala by five gold Buddha depicted inside five different circles.
On the sides are displayed Tibetan Lamas teaching monks while on top of the main circle a beautiful image of Avalokitesvara.
On the bottom the aspiring Bodhisattvas are depicted testing their skills riding horses symbolizing the effort to practice the discipline.
