Guru Dragpo is a wrathful manifestation of Guru Padmasambhava.
In this rare thangka Guru Dragpo is depicted in a fierce pose, black in color with one face and three eyes, a gaping mouth and yellow hair flowing upward.
Wearing a skull crown and a tiger skin, Guru Dragpo is stands powerful stepping on two human beings. He holds in his right hand a gold vajra while in the left thrust out to the side is a scorpion.

The background is minimal with mountains and dark blue sky with a big cloud on top and small sun (on the right) and moon (on the left).
The image of Guru Dragpo with his very dark skin illuminate the scene as he is surrounded by the orange flames of pristine awareness.
