Avalokitesvara Blessing Mantra
From: $290.00
This beautiful thangka painting depicts the Bodhisattva of compassion Avalokitesvara and the letters of His blessed mantra “Om Mani Padme Hung” spreading from His four arms.
This work of art, like other masterpieces in our collection, has a very complex design and it is available in different combinations of colors and all with gold and silver fine decorations.
In the top corners are depicted a phoenix and dragons. The the six syllables of the mantra are arranged to fit the circles and balance the design. Between the scriptures the central circle is occupied by Buddha Amitabha or Garuda.
The halo of Avalokitesvara is beautifully decorated as the intricate motif of the clothes, the golden leaves and flowers surrounding the lotus throne supported by two snow lions.
A golden conch is depicted under the Bodhisattva. The two figures on the bottom are Manjushri (left) and Vajrapani (right).
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is himself manifestation of Avalokiteshvara symbolizing His duty as Bodhisattva: a being able to reach nirvana but, moved by compassion, delays this step in order to help other beings.
Om Mani Padme Hung.
